Married on a gorgeous spring day, Meghan and Michael's modern wedding was everything they had imagined and more. The couple's love story began six years ago, after unexpectedly bonding over a breakfast sandwich at work. Years later, they professed their love for one another at a wedding that perfectly captured their laidback, loving personalities. From the stunning downtown venue to the romantic blush pink bridesmaid dresses, every detail was beautifully executed and the wedding was picture-perfect.

The Modern Wedding in Detail

Q. How did Michael pop the question?
A. After work, we met up for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and were about to head home. Right when we left, he called me and said we had to meet some friends at a restaurant (the same restaurant where we had first met). I was not excited, and wanted to stop briefly and then head home. On the walk in, he stopped me near the beautifully lit patio to let me know that none of our friends were there. With heavy snow falling on us, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He had many other words, but I was in a state of shock and it was all a blur. He had to remind me that I needed to answer yes or no.

 

Q. What was your favorite moment from the wedding?
A. The ceremony at our downtown venue was such a special moment because we had an opportunity to express our love by reading vows that we prepared individually. It was tough to get through them, but professing our love in our own words, in front of our family and friends, was so special to us both.

Q. Why did you choose Kennedy Blue?
A. I chose Kennedy Blue because they had so many different sizes and styles. I had worn one for my girlfriend’s wedding and felt really good in it! I wanted a long chiffon dress that would be flattering for all different shapes, and was searching for the perfect muted pink. The blush pink bridesmaid dresses ended up being just beautiful and classy, and I was so happy with the quality of the dresses!

Q. What advice would you give to other brides?
A. Stay calm and ask for help when planning. Surround yourself with friends and family, and take their help when you need it! Try to enjoy the planning process, and don't push anything until right before the wedding. You'll want to take that time to be excited for your big day. Enjoy every minute of your wedding day, because it goes by so fast!
